Three students at Bray-Doyle Elementary were recognized for demonstrating the school’s core values during a morning assembly on Monday, November 9. Brooks Grigsby, Mickey Richardson, and Aubrey Brady were selected for displaying one or more of the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
Bray-Doyle elementary principal, Kelli Heinrich, expressed her enthusiasm for the school’s focus on academic excellence and character development.
“At Bray-Doyle Elementary, we strive for excellence by focusing on both academic growth and the development of positive character traits in our students,” Heinrich said. “We are also excited to recognize students who demonstrate excellence in one or more of these pillars.”
Grigsby and Richardson were selected by their teacher, Mrs. Tanda Bingham, for displaying caring and citizenship.
“Mickey helps all of his classmates clean up toys when center time is over and helps those that need help pushing in their chairs,” Bingham said. “Brooks shares the toys he is playing with at center time and helps all of his friends clean up at clean up time.”
First-grade teacher, Mrs. Kayce Booth selected Brady for showing citizenship.
“Aubrey helped pick up trash on the playground without being asked,” Booth said.
