On Saturday, Sept. 28, from 7 a.m. to noon, Bray-Doyle community members, known as “Amy’s Army,” will hold a benefit pancake breakfast and silent auction at the Bray Community Center for Bray-Doyle Pre-K teacher Mrs. Amy Pass. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Pass was diagnosed with cancer this past June, and all proceeds from the benefit will go to her medical expenses.
“We have some great items for the silent auction,” said Deborah Bearce. “We want it to be a great benefit for a great lady in our community.”
Loving, generous, and courageous are just a few words that describe Pass. During her time at Bray-Doyle, she has welcomed many students into her classroom, loving each as if they were her own. She is always the first to lift someone up and has never met a stranger.
“She has continued to be strong for her kids and all her students at Bray-Doyle, with a bright smile on her face,” Bearce said. “Mrs. Pass has always put others first, looks for the good in everyone, and encourages them at every chance. We just want to return the love and encouragement she has so freely given.”
