Starting off in a new school in the middle of your high school career can be hard, but Evan Hines came to Bray-Doyle and hit the ground running during his Junior year. Hines was a big part of FCA, FCCLA, basketball and baseball during his tenure at Bray-Doyle High School. During his time social distancing, Hines took some time out to answer questions for this weeks Senior Spotlight.
B-D: When I was young, I imagined myself as…
Hines: I wanted an FBI Agent in the future.
B-D: What is an accomplishment you’re proud of?
Hines: Getting a chance to go to college.
B-D: What extra-curricular activity do you enjoy the most and why?
Hines: Basketball because it was like having a whole other family.
B-D: What are your plans after high school?
Hines: Go to Cameron University and major in Accounting.
B-D: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hines: I see myself with a steady job, and beginning a family.
B-D: What is a favorite junior high memory?
Hines: Winning a dodgeball tournament at my former school in Wisconsin.
B-D: What is a favorite high school memory?
Hines: Going to prom with all of my best friends and finding new ones in the same night.
B-D: What will you miss the most after you graduate from Bray-Doyle?
Hines: I will miss the people, everyone was always so genuine and welcoming.
B-D: What class have you enjoyed the most and why?
Hines: My favorite class was Algebra 1. It was my second time taking it because I took it in middle school and it helped me to become friends with a lot of people.
B-D: Who is your favorite teacher/faculty member and why?
Hines: It would have to be a tie between Mr. Tillson, Mr. Holman, Coach Miller, and Coach Knight. They were all so funny and like the other teachers and faculty cared so much about us. Being their student was like having a new friendship.
B-D: What three words best describe you?
Hines: The three words that best describe me are laid-back, exhausted, and senioritis.
B-D: How would you like to be remembered as you leave Bray-Doyle?
HInes: I’d like to be remembered as a person who tried to be friends with everyone.
B-D: What are some words of wisdom you would give to the under-classmen?
Hines: Enjoy high school while you can. Because you never know when a stupid virus from a bat will ruin it for you.
